Jeff Sieben and Cory Whalen, partners and shareholders here at SiebenCarey, were recently named to the 2025 Personal Injury Power List by Minnesota Lawyer, one of Minnesota’s premier legal trade journals.
The Personal Injury Power 30 list acknowledges highly decorated and influential lawyers who represent injured people, according to Minnesota Lawyer’s selection criteria. Only those most dedicated and successful at advocating for their clients are granted such an honor.
“I’ve said this before and I’m going to keep saying it,” Cory said when asked about the biggest challenges in personal injury law in the Power 30 interview with Minnesota Lawyer. “Lawyers need to be in person in courtrooms, in front of judges, arguing motions, trying cases, interacting with the assigned trial judge, his or her staff, and working in collaboration with opposing counsel, judges, and staff in the courtroom setting.”
This is the second consecutive year Cory was named to the Personal Injury Power 30 list, a rare accomplishment for any Minnesota lawyer.
“Through discovery and motion practice, we were recently able to develop a strong argument that a defendant had attempted to cover up the facts that led to the crushing death of a construction worker,” Jeff said when asked by Minnesota Lawyer about the most interesting case he has worked on recently. “These discoveries brought excitement to our work and caused us to work harder to prove the bad conduct.”
“Cory and Jeff represent the very best of what it means to be Know Your Rights attorneys,” said Jim Carey, managing partner at SiebenCarey. “They do everything they can to protect the rights of their clients and ensure they receive the resources they deserve after a serious injury.”
Cory is certified as a life member of the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an elite organization of accomplished trial attorneys. Jeff is certified as a Civil Trial Law Specialist by the Minnesota Bar Association, an achievement earned by fewer than 3% of all licensed Minnesota attorneys.
They both have received many recognitions from their peers, including selection as Super Lawyer® and Best Lawyers® honorees for multiple years.
Cory and Jeff practice in all areas of personal injury, including motor accidents, medical malpractice, property damage, workplace or residence injury, wrongful death, and more.
