Armored Truck Collides With Motorcycle In Intersection
Our client was traveling on his motorcycle northbound on West River Road in Minneapolis. As he approached the intersection of West River Road and West Broadway, he noticed that the stop light was red. Our client stopped at the intersection and waited until the light turned green.
The defendant was driving a Dunbar armored truck. He crossed into the oncoming traffic lane of West Broadway to pass a car that was already stopped at the red light for traffic traveling that direction. As our client began to make a left turn with a green light, the defendant passed the vehicle stopped at the red light, entered the intersection of West River Road and Broadway, and struck our client on his motorcycle. The accident report indicates that the armored truck traveled approximately 200 feet before it was able to come to a stop.
Our client's injuries included a fractured right ankle, a fractured pelvis, fractured ribs, fractured vertebrae, and a lacerated liver. He had torn tendons in his left elbow and tendon damage in his right ankle. Harry Sieben settled his claim for $550,000.
