Car Crash Victim Collects WC and PI Benefits
Our client was on her way to work one morning on Interstate 94. She stopped behind other traffic and saw a vehicle approaching her from the rear that didn’t look like it was slowing down. There was no place for her to move out of the way and she was rear-ended by this vehicle that was traveling about 50 mph.
Our client lost consciousness immediately after she was struck for about 10 seconds. She was taken to Regions hospital by ambulance from the scene. She suffered neck and back pain, hip pain as well as headaches, memory loss and photosensitivity. She was treated at the Courage Kenny Institute in their traumatic brain injury program.
Because our client was on the job driving a company vehicle when she was struck, she was able to collect workers’ compensation benefits. That claim was handled by Michael Scully in our office.
Jeffrey Sieben pursued personal injury claims for our client against both her own automobile insurer as well as the insurance company for the driver that struck her. Her personal injury claims were settled for a total of $350,000.
