Motorcycle Accident Victim Becomes Advocate
Our client was on his way to work on morning in July, 2018. As he entered an intersection, suddenly and without warning, a vehicle turned in front of him, causing our client to be thrown off his motorcycle and onto the hood of the car that struck him. He then flew over the roof of that car and landed on the trunk then to the ground.
As a result of the accident, our client sustained facial abrasions, bleeding, bruising and swelling to his body. He was transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital. There he was kept for observation for 3 days. Our client continued to treat for ongoing neck and back pain, double vision and headaches.
Jeff Sieben settled his injury claim for $100,000; the policy limits for the driver that caused the accident.
Since this accident our client has become active in the motorcycle community in encouraging others to purchase UM coverage and UIM coverage. He is scheduled to testify at the MN State House of Representatives regarding the need to require UIM/UM coverage for motorcyclists. Our client was sold high levels of liability insurance coverage but was not adequately informed about the need for UIM/UM coverage. Hopefully, our legislature will require these coverages for motorcyclists and help these victims of often serious injuries.
Jeff Sieben was invited and spoke to our client’s motorcycle club regarding these dangers and gaps in coverage.
